Kings Park Bowls and Social Club was formed in 1905, in Kings Park which was originally part of Enclosure Allotment 59 that the Council bought from Sir George Meyrick for £65 per acre by authority of the Bournemouth Corporation Act 1900.
The park covers some 86 acres and is a centre for sports activities in the Bournemouth area. Located within one of Bournemouth’s biggest parks, the site is set between facilities for cricket, football and athletics. Premier League footballing side AFC Bournemouth play at the stadium next to our club!
The green opened in 1905 and has been an ever present in the local league structures for over 100 years.
Today, we are proud to consider ourselves a dynamic and forward-thinking club. We have male and female members young and old, and everything inbetween! Come and experience one of the few clubs to be gaining members in recent years. Whether you are a guest or a member, all are welcome.
We are open to the general public from 10am daily from April through to the end of September, thereafter opening is dependent on the weather. The only exception is if the green is declared unplayable by the Green-keeper.
Green closing time is flexible after 6pm, if the demand is there then we stay open until up to 9pm.
We can accommodate up to 48 people on our six rinks and offer a range of social features including a licensed bar and barbeque
If you are planning a tour we would very much welcome the opportunity of being included as a venue. Priced £20 per rink, which includes tea and biscuits, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and a fun day out. We have a long list of touring clubs that return year after year. If your club would like to tour in Bournemouth then be sure to contact us for further details.
We have six quality rinks which are open to the public and to Bowls Clubs.
There is a fully licenced bar open to signed in paying and playing guests with a full range of both alcoholic and soft drinks together with a variety of snacks.
